Bios

Boyd King has participated in banking since 1974 and has functioned in every capacity from filing checks as a bookkeeper to becoming a bank president. Mr. King served as president of the first two banks to merge by acquisition in the State of Kansas. Boyd has been associated with Bank Management Services since 1999, providing services for over 30 banks in Kansas and Oklahoma. Although he specializes in loan review, Bank Secrecy Act audits, ACH audits, compliance audits, Directors’ exams, and IT reviews, he also has extensive experience in lending, bank operations, investment strategies, asset-liability management, and development of systems, policies, and procedures.

In addition to consulting, Boyd spends time with his lovely wife, Tona, of more than thirty-five years. Together they have two successful children, a son who is a Captain and pilot in the U.S. Air Force and a daughter who is a Doctor of Chiropractic. Furthermore, Boyd owns a small custom harvesting operation, truck and aircraft leasing businesses, and is an instrument rated commercial pilot.

James D. (Jim) Masterson is the founder of Bank Management Services and provides extensive consulting to financial institutions, including directors’ examinations, BSA audits, IT audits and reviews, ACH audits, budgeting and financial planning, employee development and training and special project management. Mr. Masterson has over 30 years of banking, consulting and banker training experience

Prior associations include Central Bank and Trust, Muscatine, Iowa; Iowa Des Moines National Bank; Peoples Bank & Trust, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Cloud County Bank & Trust, Concordia, Kansas; Exchange Bank of Clyde, Clyde, Kansas; and Data Center Incorporated, Hutchinson, Kansas. He passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination in 1980. Mr. Masterson received a BS degree in Business Administration and Economics from Culver Stockton College, Canton, Missouri and a MBA degree from Drake University. Jim has served banks in a variety of capacities, including, teller, bookkeeper, proof operator, loan officer, branch manager, internal auditor, trust auditor, operations manager, chief financial officer and director.
